The first full week of April will feature May-like temperatures followed by early March weather this weekend as the roller coaster continues with an active, amplified jet stream pattern across the eastern two-thirds of the Nation.

Showers and thunderstorm are likely Monday night with clearing conditions on Tuesday expected along with gusty winds.  

A strong cold front will cross the area Thursday afternoon with strong to severe thunderstorms possible.

Friday through the weekend will feature heavy, wet Snow across the ski resorts of West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania where upwards of 6 to 8″ of fresh snow could accumulate in the higher elevations.

Get out the heavy Winter Coats! Mid-January average highs are heading for the Mid-Atlantic during the second half of the upcoming weekend! An arctic cold front accompanied by very gusty winds will roll through the Washington Area sometime on Saturday late afternoon/evening. Temperatures will fall some 20 degrees as the front passes with rain showers changing over to snow across Garrett County Maryland and the mountains of West Virginia.  This will be the first accumulating snowfall of the season for some of the ski resorts in the mountains. Strong northwesterly winds will continue during the day on Sunday with highs holding in the lower to mid 40s across the Washington-Baltimore Area.  Wind chills will hold in the lower 20s across the Mid-Atlantic during the day on Sunday.  Lake Effect snow will fall across the favored areas of Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.
