Flash Flooding Likely Thursday

The forecast models have continued their bullish predictions during the past 24 hours with the European Model now dumping upwards of 2 to 4″ of rain along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge mountains in a short period of time. The latest North American Model (NAM) below (image courtesy Tropical Tidbits) shows a line of storms producing torrential rainfall slowly moving eastward across the Washington Region on Thursday. The heaviest rain is forecast to move across the Blue Ridge mountains between 6 and 8 am before sliding into the immediate Washington Area between 9am and 12pm and reaching the Chesapeake Bay between 12pm and 2pm.
