Your Washington Area Solar Eclipse Forecast

A line of thunderstorms may approach the Washington Region around 3 PM according to the latest High-Resolution NAM model.

The eclipse will begin shortly after 1 p.m. and end at around 4 p.m., with it reaching its peak at around 2:42 p.m.

The image above (from the latest NAM model) shows storms firing in the Shenandoah Valley around 3PM, working eastward into the immediate Metropolitan Area between 6 and 8PM.  If this forecast verifies, many of us should have at least partly cloudy conditions to view the peak eclipse time of 2:42 PM.
