PM Strong Storms Likely

This morning’s ample sunshine has primed the atmosphere with dew points in the 60s and temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s.  A disturbance will slide east across the Washington Area between 4pm and 6pm likely producing scattered strong to potentially severe thunderstorms.

A potent disturbance off of the southeast Florida coast is forecast to move northward approaching the Georgia or Carolina coastline on Wednesday. The forecast models are currently not in agreement as to whether this disturbance will develop into something more substantial or if it will simply bring the threat of heavy rain and or thunderstorms Thursday into Friday.
