Scattered Strong to Severe Storms Possible this Afternoon
The latest high-resolution models are indicating that scattered strong to potentially severe storms will develop during the late afternoon and evening hours today. The time stamp in the image below (courtesy pivotalweather) shows storms firing in the Shenandoah Valley around 4pm and then moving through the DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas between 6 and 10pm. The main threat with these thunderstorms will be damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
For those of you with outdoor exercise plans, the best time will be during the morning as scattered thunderstorms will likely be rumbling through during the afternoon and evening.
