The Storm Prediction Center has placed Northern Virginia, DC and much of Maryland under a “slight risk” for severe thunderstorms this evening with the main threat being damaging winds and hail. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.

The latest high resolution NAM model shows a line of storms forming in the Shenandoah Valley around 9pm and then racing southeastward through the DC Metro Area between 11pm and 3am.
Spectacular Weather Tuesday through Thursday
For those of us that are sick of the humidity get ready for a nice break! Sunshine, northwesterly breezes and much lower humidity are in store Tuesday through Thursday. Highs will remain in the upper 70s for most with low temperatures in the suburbs dropping into the middle 50s!
