The latest forecast models have slowed the track of the next system that will impact our region on Mother’s Day (image below courtesy Pivotal Weather).
Timing the Rain on Mother’s Day
A warm front will move northward across our region on Mother’s Day touching off a period of rain showers during the morning hours along and south of Interstate 66 and pushing into northern Maryland during the early afternoon hours. However, most models show even locations in Maryland drying out for the later half of the afternoon.
Temperatures on Mother’s Day are forecast to reach the middle to upper 50s
So while it won’t be sunny and near 70 degrees, the forecast for Sunday has greatly improved from what was looking like a potential washout with temps holding in the lower 50s.
