Probability Increasing for Cold and Rainy Mother’s Day

I hate being the bearer of bad news but those of you making your plans for Mother’s Day might want to have a Plan B for any outdoor activities.

Coastal Storm May Impact Mid-Atlantic on Mother’s Day with Steady, Cold Rain

Temperatures are not looking any better….

with highs on Mother’s Day possibly holding in the upper 50s across the northern and western suburbs and near 60 in downtown Washington (15 degrees below average).

The image above (courtesy Pivotal Weather) shows the temperature anomaly forecast for Mother’s Day. Yes those deep purples represent temperatures of some 20 degrees below average.

Hopefully the forecast for Sunday changes, but as of now, Saturday is definitely looking like the better day of the upcoming weekend with mostly cloudy skies expected and a few showers possible.
