Below are the snowfall reports from the wet snow event on Sunday. Notice the bust along the Interstate 95 corridor where a trace to a coating fell — the temperatures out ahead of this system were just too warm.
Western Loudoun county and Frederick MD performed pretty well with 4 to 5″. Heck, even St. Mary’s and Calvert counties in southern Maryland picked up 3″ of snow.
The next chance of a prolonged period of winter weather is forecast from Wednesday evening through Friday. Just look at your Weather Channel app on your smart phone.
I just checked the snowfall forecast for downtown Washington on The Weather Channel app which is currently showing 1 to 3″ in DC Wednesday night, Thursday and Thursday night for a total of 3 to 9″ of snow.
So let’s keep track of TWC forecast for downtown DC and the ensemble models (images below courtesy WxBell) over the next 48 hours… you be the meteorologist… let’s see how easy this is (or isn’t).
