A mixture of Sleet and Freezing Rain is likely to develop during the pre-dawn hours on Saturday (3am – 6am) across the central Shenandoah Valley and parts of north-central Virginia. The freezing rain will move into the western suburbs of Washington between 6 and 9am before changing over to rain around noon. A glaze (of up to a tenth of an inch) of ice is possible on untreated surfaces making for treacherous travel.
No changes to the map I issued on Wednesday are necessary, when making travel decisions please consult the official forecast from the National Weather Service. Opinions on this website are my own.
