Crippling Heavy Wet Snow Headed to Washington: Plan for Scattered Power Outages Wednesday!

Models are trending slower and closer to the coast with the track of the Nor’easter that will wallop the Nation’s Capital with one of our biggest March snowfalls in recent memory.

Winter Storm Watches will likely be upgraded to Winter Storm Warnings with widespread closings tomorrow. As usual, National Airport will probably be the region’s biggest loser with about 6 to 8″ of snow due to the effect of idiots choosing to measure snow at a runway strip in south Arlington instead of measuring at the White House or Capitol Hill (oh and try to clear the snow board appropriately this time).  Much higher accumulations can be expected across northwest Washington and the surrounding Metropolitan area.

The weight of the heavy, wet snow will cause power outages as winds begin to increase out of the northeast Tuesday night and Wednesday.

Expect major travel disruptions across the Northeast big cities of Washington, Baltimore Philadelphia and New York.
