The image above, courtesy pivotal weather, shows copious amounts of rain impacting the Tennessee valley into the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England. A widespread one to two inches of rain is expected region-wide with this system with some locations picking upwards of 3.5″ before the storm pulls away Monday morning.
The latest HRRR (High Resolution Rapid Refresh) model shows a classic set up for a “wash out” from Saturday noon through the morning hours on Sunday. Some models show a break in the action midday Sunday before the cold front brings more rain and storms during the evening and overnight hours.
