Models Shift West: Get out the Sleds

The models shifted the track of a coastal storm to the west overnight. Winter Weather Advisories are now in effect for 2 to 4” of accumulation on Saturday in the Washington Metro Area.

Higher amounts of 4 to 8” are expected across southern Maryland, the Northern Neck and eastward toward the beaches of Delaware and Maryland. Temperatures will hold near freezing allowing for untreated roadways to become snow-covered.

A very boring event so far as it won’t snow hard and won’t stick on the pavement as of 2 PM. But sometimes you get a burst toward the end of an event and looks like we have several more hours to go. Not throwing in the towel quite yet.
