Late Weekend Wintry Mix Still in the Cards for Now

The latest European Meteograms from the three major Airport hubs (National, Dulles and BWI) continue to show the potential of a Wintry Mix developing during the upcoming weekend.

There continues to be strong disagreement between the GFS, Canadian and European models on timing, track and strength (not surprising 7 days out) of any storm system and its potential impacts on our region next weekend into the following week.

Highlights:

  • Coldest temperatures should arrive Thursday night into Friday with lows in the lower to middle teens and highs holding in the middle to upper 20s.

  • Three meteograms above currently show one inch of snow accumulation by Saturday morning, followed by a wild spike in temperatures Sunday into Monday and then another potential Winter Storm arriving around Wednesday the 21st.

Keep in mind that these meteograms will change as we get nearer to any potential event as we are still a solid week away.
