Few Slick Spots Possible in Far Northwestern Exurbs pre-dawn Monday

Image above shows areas of pink  on the map indicative of pockets of freezing rain late tonight.

Dew points are sitting in the teens and low twenties which means the middle and lower levels of the atmosphere are very dry.

Evaporational Cooling (precipitation evaporating as it falls through dry air causing the temperature to cool) may keep temperatures near freezing in the sheltered valleys where freezing rain could potentially have an impact on the morning rush hour for areas across the Shenandoah Valley, western Loudoun county and northern Maryland, hence the National Weather Service issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for these areas.

Elsewhere, a steady, beneficial rain will fall Monday morning tapering off during the afternoon hours.
