Saturday will feature gorgeous conditions out ahead of a strong arctic front that will be rapidly approaching the DC Metro Area Saturday during the evening. High temperatures on Saturday will likely soar into the upper 60s to lower 70s. The image below shows the sharp 20 degree temperature fall just behind the cold front (image below approximately 1pm Saturday).
This is what the European forecast model is showing around 7pm on Saturday evening:
- Notice Washington Dulles Airport goes from 68 degrees at 1pm to 43 degrees by 7pm (a 25 degree temperature plunge)!
For those of you itching to ski… Snowshoe should obtain a decent base this weekend with some models dropping between 5 and 10″ of accumulation.
