The North American Model (NAM) seems to have a better handle on the current rainfall slug sitting across North Carolina this evening. The Global Forecast System and others seem late to the game on this system.
Moderate Rainfall is now looking likely Monday during the mid-Afternoon hours which will impact your afternoon and evening rush hour.
Using a blend of the models and current uncertainty, most locations across the eastern half of our region should pick up a quarter to a half of an inch of rain by pre-dawn Tuesday. If the NAM is correct (image above) we could see heavier rainfall amounts of a half-inch to one inch… with locally higher totals possible (2″ in spots not out of the question, if the NAM is correct).
