High Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) Model: Snowfall Accumulation through tonight. (Image courtesy: weatherbell.com) A coating to 2″ is possible in spots tonight with 3″ locally.
Yes, the forecast was a complete bust. It happens. Nobody is perfect. The unrelenting warm air last night held strong later than anticipated and wasted over a quarter of an inch of liquid to fall as rain. If temperatures had been in the upper 20s to near 32 we would have squeezed out about 2 to 4″ of snow out of that by dawn. The second problem is tha the clipper transferred its energy to the coast robbing our area from steadier snow today.
Scattered snow showers will fall across the area this afternoon into the overnight hours producing a coating to one inch with some locations picking up 2 to 3.
