As of March 16, 2014 here are the unofficial snowfall totals pulled from the National Weather Service’s climate database.
The chart above shows how much snow has fallen at National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) each month between December 1, 2013 and March 16th (yesterday).
The monthly totals added up are quite impressive (totals do not include the snow that fell after midnight on Sunday):
Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA): 26.4″
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD): 45.4″
Baltimore – Washington International Airport (BWI): 35.6″
And now for something to look forward to (gorgeous spring like weather):

I will certainly do an update sometime next week or next weekend as we may get another snow storm before March is out.
Since snow that fell after midnight isn’t included, will you be doing a final season update? Thanks.
The NAO index is dropping and the models are looking interesting early to mid next week. Looks like we could have a classic Nor’easter at some point here before April Fools Day. I would be laughing if we got nailed with another foot or more of heavy, wet snow … it would certainly remind some of the elderly population here (that are from here) of what Winters were like during the 1960s and 1970s… cold and snowy!
It will be nice to have a few spirngiike days, because as you said in your earlier post, it looks like the Polar Vortex (at least in a modified form) seems determined to pay yet another visit by early next week. Wouldn’t it be unbelievable if we got yet another March snowfall?
