I wanted to put out a quick update to mention that I am finding the radar trends to be alarming:
- Freezing rain is moving east-north-east out of the central Shenandoah Valley and much of the Washington Region will be impacted by widespread moderate to at times heavy freezing rain during the overnight hours. Temperatures will remain around freezing for most of the area north and west of the District.
- Ice accumulations will average one-quarter of an inch across the western suburbs. Power outages are likely in the sheltered valleys below 1500 feet as these locations will likely see between one-quarter and one-half of an inch of ice accumulation.
